6. Marketing Plan

6.1 Fixing a Price
It is affirmed that the free on board (FOB) price of the bleached pulp/ton is 7000 yuan RMB, according to present market situation. In comparison: the price of exports to Japan is 9500 yuan/ton, kenaf pulp bleached with chlorine is 11’500 yuan/ton, brown kenaf pulp is 11’000 yuan/ton).
The price of exported hemp seeds is 1 to 1.5 dollars/kg. The output of hemp seeds permu is about 70 kg. The hemp stalks are to be sold to the paper mills, and the price is 45 dollars/ton (350 yuan RMB). In comparison, the price of wheat straw this year in Shandong, Henan, Hebei, Shanxi is 800 yuan RMB/ton. The production of hemp stalk permu is 0.8-1.5 ton.

6.2. Distribution
The institute of distribution is to be set up in Japan, exporting to other countries as a foreign trade dependency. The main markets at home are the coastal development areas, setting up commercial agents in ten large and middle size cities.

6.3. Sales Promotion
The means of promotional activities include: newspaper advertisements, lectures showing the new technology, providing samples, free trials, etc. At present, we are preparing a paper to be presented at the international conference "Bast fibrous plants on the turn of second and third millennium" in Shenyang City, China (19-23 September 2001).

6.4. Products Forecast
According to the latest study per capita consumption of paper and paperboard is closely related to the national development levels of GDP. The world paper and board consumption has grown by 1.5% annually, between 1990-1998. The consumption of paper and paperboard in China has grown by 9.5% annually between 1990-1998. TCF bleached pulp and paper belongs to pollution free "green" products which are widely used in medicine, for drinks, for wine filtration, food packaging, school books, etc. With the rising awareness for environmental protection and health, the demand of TCV bleached paper is steadily growing.
