Presentation of Expo_Hemp 2002 And Hemp-Info

The castle of Prehl is the showcase of Chanvre-Info, the Swiss company specialised in the trade of products derived from hemp. The building, decorated with a nice old-fashioned façade, belonged to Jost von Diesbach. It was also owned by Louis d’Affry.
We have located the company in Morat this year in order to take advantage of the dynamics of the national exhibition "Expo.02". The organisers say that Expo.02 will show the future of Switzerland. Thus, it will also show the future of agriculture. Then, we will be ready! In the Castle of Prehl, a few hundred metres from the formal exhibition, our model farm is getting ready. We will display everything about hemp, during our exhibition Hanf-Expo-Chanvre.02. The first articles have already been published in newspapers.
Chanvre-Info already sells products from a score of Swiss and foreign producers, and wishes to sell more.
Our shop in Bienne (route d’Aarberg, 97) is open since end of February. It is located 150 metres from the Bern-Neuchâtel major route, and 3 minutes from the train station. We make every effort to meet all your desires. The shop is open Monday to Saturday, from 11.30 to 18.30, and Saturday until 16.00.
Since last winter, "Mon Pote, le Chanvre" is open in Neuchâtel (rue Fleury, 18). This shop displays all that can be made with hemp: accessories, clothes, cosmetics, food, literature, paper, and even building materials. The police being very tough here, the raw material is not sold. Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday, from 10.00 to 18.00, Thursday 10.00-16.30, Saturday closed at 16.00, Monday closed.
In Prehl, André Fürst co-operates with Martin Gutknecht, a stockbreeder and owner of the place. André Fürst has funded the conversion of the cowshed into sales premises, and the construction of a place for pressing hemp seeds, works estimated at least to half a million Swiss francs. He makes no secret of his ambitions, when the works will be completed by the end of 2001: "We hope to have more than 500 visitors a day during Hanf-Expo-Chanvre.02, when our agricultural estate will be operating." Visitors of the agriculture pavilion from the national exhibition, located a few hundred metres from there, are clearly targeted.
Apostle of the hemp legalisation, André Fürst has many arguments: therapeutic value of the active ingredients, no addiction, ...
