The European Legalisation Front about us
E.L.F. is an organization for consumer protection, which applies for a better quality of hemp products including their legalization.
The last year revealed the "War on Drugs" to be a one-way solution which only supports the "war". That’s why E.L.F. decided to build up a base for the organization and realization of legalization projects. Provocative and well organized actions should be the way to bring the needed changes concerning the recent "war on drugs".
The concern of E.L.F. is the full legalization of marijuana under strict rules of youth protection, and the possibility for medicinal use including meeting expenses by the health-system.
One of our projects, the "Hanftag", takes place in Berlin on 9th may 2009 and should become the event for legalization, public awareness and safety education. We are hoping for a good response from all participants, the press and the public and want to put European-wide hemp legalization on top of the agenda until we succeed.
Under the aegis of E.L.F. different groups take part in legalization work, in Germany the Hanfwerk is the base for additional sections, the Hanfwehr and Hanfdienst. The first group will be responsible for the execution of specific campaigns. Hanfdienst will be responsible for targeted and regular public relations.
The Hanfwehr already took action with the red hemp-rescue-van last year in Switzerland, to provide the public with information related to the hemp-plebiscite with the extra-issue of the Hanf Journal. Even if the plebiscite failed to legalize, the result of this referendum has been noticed as a partial success, which let the Hanfwehr form together for a permanent change in cannabis politics.
As a sequel of the Hanfwehr campaign the Hanfwerk is the responsible initiator and organizer of the 2009 Hanftag in Berlin. With support of illustrious speakers, the cooperation with Dana Beal (the Initiator of the Million Marijuana March) and a colorful after-party at the Yaam-Club in Berlin, there will be a nice celebration for a new start of big, green actions.
The first member-recruitment-campaign already succeeded so we are proud to welcome the first German volunteers.
Similar to Hanfwerk in Germany, E.L.F. is a European activist association. E.L.F. was founded to support the hemp movement within the whole European community and to utilize the full potential of activists throughout Europe by connecting them efficiently.
With constant border crossing, contact to legalizes, media and organizations like theDHV, we are well connected with partners and information, which will support us in meeting our objectives.
Moreover all members should benefit from their volunteer-work. At meetings they should be able to utilize their skills, meet like-minded people and develop methods to change the public perception to a more positive understanding of the legalization issue.
